COMMUNITY

Living out the gospel

Community Groups

The gospel creates Christian community. The gospel is not simply rescue from sins for individuals, but it creates a new, deep, intense community of mutual support and love.  One of the frequent refrains you find in the Old Testament that articulates the gospel is: "I will be your God and you will be my people." (See Leviticus 26:12, Jeremiah 30:22, etc.)   Notice the communal aspect of salvation.  We are reconciled to God and to each other.

Community is also vital to Christian life. We learn the gospel more deeply as we experience it through community.  We cannot do it alone.  But we need the constant encouragement and accountability brothers and sisters in Christ provide.

Community groups create the opportunity and space for close-knit Christian community, but it is not without effort.  Especially in the busyness of modern life, community life must be intentional or it will not exist.  Therefore, we encourage everyone in our church to actively participate in our community groups and sacrificially pour out their lives into them.

There are multiple groups that meet throughout the Bay Area on different days of the week. Some groups meet weekly; some meet bi-weekly.
